General Teaching Assistant required long term for a Year 6 class in a thriving Coventry based school

This Coventry based school was rated 'GOOD' overall in their last Ofsted report with an 'OUTSTANDING' rating for 'Behaviour and Safety of Pupils'. The vast majority of teaching standards have been rated as good with the rest being outstanding. This is currently a 2 form entry in Reception through to KS1 and is likely to progress into KS2 in the future as it is continually growing in size.
Your new role
The school are looking for a general Teaching Assistant for their Year 6 classroom to support pupils through an important time in their academic lives. You will assist in the setup and execution of activities throughout the day as well as a tidy up at the end of each day. You will be required to take small groups of pupils out of the classroom when required as well as work with pupils on a 1:1 basis supporting with the National Curriculum. Where required you will take charge of displays to enhance pupils learning in order to showcase their work.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a passionate person who has the drive to ensure pupils achieve their best. You will need to have experience working in a Year 6 classroom following the National Curriculum and comfortable supporting pupils during their SATs. You will have a calm and patient personality and have a good understanding of how to help children of this age succeed to progress comfortably into Secondary education.
