With competition for PGCE/Schools Direct places more competitive than ever this experience, working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, could be just the ticket to gain entry on to a good teacher training course. It will also provide graduates with much food for thought as they embark on their future career in education.
Based to the east of Birmingham city centre my client academy has approached Edustaff to help with the recruitment of a science graduate Teaching Assistant. This position is to start ASAP, ideally in September or October.
The school is a relatively small secondary that converted to an academy only a year ago. The school provide an education up to GCSE level with no current sixth form provision. The school has a specialism in science and maths with many of the pupils going on to study these subjects at A level and later university.
As opposed to the way Teaching Assistants are traditionally used the school prefer putting them with small groups of pupils where they can support learning that maybe with their gifted and talented or those pupils that are falling behind slightly.
This school has an excellent reputation and with that reputation comes high expectations from pupils, parents and the school's teaching staff. The school are therefore only looking for high calibre graduates that have a sound education at GCSE and A Level, a well-presented appearance and most importantly a passion for passing on their subject knowledge to the pupils they work with.
If this sounds like you and you're able to commit to working full time for the coming academic year please email a copy of your CV to Patrick at Edustaff today.
