A national distribution company is seeking an interim Dangerous Goods Specialist based in North Warwickshire. As the Dangerous Goods Specialist you will be well versed in the logistics and distribution sector and will be used to a large multi site role. You will be able to communicate at all levels and will have good business acumen enabling you to work closely with sales and customer teams within the company. Mandatory qualifications include the DGSA Certificate with a minimum of 3 years practical experience. You will also ideally have DGR Cat 1 and 3 qualifications as a minimum, Category 6 would be ideal. Experience of IATA and IMDG is also important.This will be initially 3 months with a strong chance of being extended and will pay a day rate of circa GBP350.

The Role

  • Fulfilling the role of Dangerous Goods Specialist for a national distribution company
  • Advising on best practice, and ensuring company and legal compliance is adhered too
  • Assisting customer service and sales team gain specialist business
  • Being the in house specialist - providing expert technical advice

Key Qualifications

  • DGSA Certificate with 3 years recent experience - Mandatory
  • DGR Cat 6 Desirable (Cat 1 and 3 minimum) - Mandatory
  • Experience of Carriage of Radios Active Materials (Desirable)
  • Haulage, Shipping, Freight and Receiving experience
  • Experience of auditing the full logistics process

The Candidate

  • A Dangerous Goods technical expert
  • Relevant qualification in logistics and supply chain
  • Have a good business acumen, experience of a sales or customer service role in Logistics would be beneficial
  • Ideally a member of the BADGP and/or Institute of Logistics
  • Able to work flexibly as and when needed
