Working for a leading company in software development you will be responsible for buying across all business areas of a UK wide business.


  • Ensure all third party expenditure is undertaken as economically as possible, maximizing the commercial position and delivering market competitive pricing
  • Daily management of allocated categories
  • Undertake due diligence in the supply chain, identifying risk and ensure correct stakeholders engaged
  • Support the business in all aspects of Purchasing and Supply Chain management
  • Keep Manager fully aligned and engaged in projects undertaken
  • Assume responsibility for allocated projects and identify new opportunities to deliver annual saving plan objectives
  • Adopt category management and sourcing strategy
  • Deliver best practice in areas such as market research, competitive tender process, supplier selection, negotiation, contract implementation and cost reduction
  • Support BU on requirements on all matters of Purchasing and supply
  • Take on ad-hoc Purchasing projects, coordinating and analyzing options and present findings to line manager
  • Support the teams objectives and performance towards key goals

Key Skills

  • Sound knowledge of Purchasing
  • Purchasing experience within the IT industry, Telecoms, Networks, Travel advantageous
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excel skills
  • Competent negotiator
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Well organized in terms of time management and work load prioritization
  • Experience of influencing stakeholders
