Salary: £25,856 - £29,112 (Market Forces Payment up to £33,752 per annum)
Who are we looking for?
Burton and South Derbyshire College are seeking to appoint a qualified, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Engineering team to deliver on a range of full time and apprenticeship programmes.
Applicants will ideally hold a relevant degree or equivalent in Engineering or related subjects and have industrial experience alongside an appropriate teaching qualification. The College welcomes applications from vocational specialists who desire to pursue a career in further education and is therefore prepared to offer training for individuals to gain a recognised teaching qualification alongside this role.
Applicants will require working knowledge and experience within the areas of electrical and technical maintenance to deliver training up to a Level 3 standard. The successful candidate will teach across a range of Engineering courses and modules aligned to their occupational skillset in-order to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessments to our learners. In this role, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate innovative teaching and learning, coupled with excellent communication skills to motivate and guide learners to succeed.
For the right candidate, the College is in the position to offer the enhanced post of Curriculum Team Leader, which is perfectly positioned for those individuals with future aspirations of further education leadership and management. The role will entail providing support to the Deputy Director of Curriculum in managing and guiding the curriculum team to achieve targets and objectives across the curriculum areas against an agreed set of critical success factors. The role has a particular focus on teaching and learning, assessment and performance management, including undertaking the lead internal quality assurance role for the subject areas. The enhanced role carries with it a remitted teaching commitment and salary enhancements which can be discussed in more detail at interview.
