Transport Planning Senior Consultant - Strategic and Microsimulation modeller

Location: Birmingham

Due to continued growth the business has a requirement for a Strategic and Microsimulation modeller at both Senior and Principal Consultant grade to join the team. The business is particularly interested in applications from individuals with backgrounds in:

  • Strategic and Microsimulation model development and application
  • Development impact assessments
  • Transport scheme appraisals
  • Business case development

To be considered for this role, you will preferably have knowledge and experience of working with Strategic Modelling software such as SATURN, Cube Voyager, EMME, VISUM and/or Microsimulation modelling software such as Vissim, Aimsun and Paramics. Training will be provided to develop your skills across this range of transport modelling packages.

As Senior/ Principle Consultant, this will be a client - facing role where the post holder will be the key contact with our clients' project managers so the ability to develop and maintain relationships along with excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.

The company's workload is very varied and includes development assessments for private sector developers using both microsimulation and strategic modelling software, preparation of business cases for road and public transport schemes, assessment of clean air zone schemes, development of multi-modal transport strategies and also the maintenance and application of the Highways England Regional Models.
