We have a fantastic opportunity for a Tax and Treasury Manager to join a leading organisation in their joint venture based in Stoke-on-Trent. The client is a well-established leader in Energy and Utilities having joined forces with 2 of the leading figures in the industry. They specialise in account management and efficiency advice for business customers across the UK. The role offers the chance for the right individual on a permanent basis. The overall objective of the Tax and Treasury Manager is to lead the taxation and treasury functions within the financial control function. You will provide technical and commercial guidance to the Financial Controller and CFO. Responsibilities - Providing technical advice and support on taxation matters to the CFO, financial controller and wider business - Management of the tax register and taking action to mitigate any tax risks identified - Responsible for the Senior Accounting Officer submission - Responsible for the publication of the tax strategy document - Preparation and submission of corporation tax and returns - Management and payment of quarterly corporation tax payments - Working closely with the HR/Payroll department to ensure a smooth monthly payroll submission - Manage the external relationship with HMRC and tax advisors - Support wider financial control team including training of junior staff - Establish the control environment and systems to ensure accurate reporting - Ensure interest payments are made on a timely basis - Manage the relationship with Banks Skills, Knowledge and Behaviour - Experience in the corporate taxation - Experience of setting up the financial controls and governance surrounding VAT, Payroll and returns - Previous experience of interacting with senior level management - A proven record of delivery under pressure within financial projects - A willingness to learn new skills and support the wider financial control team - Change management skills, with a track record of delivery - Experience of treasury management with a medium sized commercial operation - A sound understanding of the non-household retail environment - Good written and verbal skills - Ability to successfully communicate and engage at all levels - Organised and methodical - Ability to operate with change and uncertainty - Confident in own judgement - Ability to resolve conflict Benefits of the role - Salary of up to £45k- £60k - Opportunity to work in a vibrant, city centre environment with great people - Monday to Friday hours with No weekends! - 25 days holiday plus bank holidays - Car parking space in a city centre location - Pension scheme - Childcare vouchers
