UST Operator Profile This positon reports to the Process Leader and is an integral part of the Structural Forge function with responsibility in ensuring that all customer needs and internal quality processes are met. You will be required to support the inspection of components in utilising the UST techniques. UST Operator Deliverables * The main purpose of this role is to ensure that forged components comply with customer specifications in relation to the identification of internal defects in a timely manner to daily target and schedule. * As part of this role you will be required to maintain and observe all Health and Safety requirements and comply with company policies and procedures. Experience * The successful candidate will have documented evidence of examination, approvals and work experience in a similar, high pressured manufacturing environment preferably in the aerospace sector. This will form the basis for the specific training, examination and approval. * You must be prepared to train for and pass initial specific written and practical approval examinations, annual performance reviews and successfully complete further training and examinations as required. * The successful candidate will be required to pass the eye sight test and be prepared to take and pass this test on an annual basis including, where necessary any visits to an optician to obtain corrective vision. * You will be proactive and have a clear understanding of quality drivers and have worked within a quality orientated business. * You will be expected to help the company maintain Nadcap NDT Special Process accreditation and all other customer approvals in accordance with the aims of the Company Quality Policy. UST Operator Skills and Qualifications * Good interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and achieve business objectives * Excellent numeracy and literacy skills are required (for routine activities and examinations) * Able to interpret and work to engineering specifications and drawings * Excellent attention to detail is required * Involvement in team activity * Ensure documents are filed and updated * Responsible for own actions * Proactive in improvement activity * Must be flexible to work different shift patterns * Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written * Able to meet deadlines * Interact in a competent manner with auditors when required * Experience within a similar environment * Hold current BINDT Accredited Agency Certificate:- EN 4179/NAS 410 Ultrasonic NDT Level I - Wrought products for one or more Aerospace prime specifications - AIRBUS (Desirable)
