Our client is a leading provider of supply chain solutions in the UK. With contracts across a variety of sectors and an impressive network of distribution sites and vehicle fleets, the business is looking for a highly experienced General Manager to lead a contract which covers a campus in Stafford. You will be responsible for all staff and activities on site which employs over 1400 staff members. This position requires a confident communicator and leader who will build robust working relationships with all key stakeholders to ensure first class operational performance, and to cement long term strategic partnership contracts. You will deliver contract account plans to maximise customer satisfaction, drive contract expansion and deliver profit and margin growth. Responsible for all contractual KPI's and budget requirements across the contract, whilst delivering a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement. This role calls for a forward thinking and strategic professional who is constantly looking at ways to maximise business opportunities and builds plans and networks to support organic business growth. Leading from the front, ensuring that best in class HSE performance is achieved as well as delivering on performance and productivity targets. You must be able to demonstrate senior management experience at GM level within a high volume warehouse and transport operation. Previous experience in inspiring management teams, developing effective working relationships with clients, and a proven ability to operate effectively in an "Open Book" environment involving regular customer reviews. Candidates will feel comfortable in negotiating change within high unionised organisations. Able to demonstrate the relevant skills and methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
