This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced enterprise-scale Systems Administrator to bring their Linux, Open Source and DevOps thinking to a traditional Windows-based infrastructure environment. This is a company which cannot afford to stand still and invest heavily in their technology to keep pace, and ahead of their competition across the UK. We're looking for you to provide advice and technical guidance on how automated provisioning can be implemented and adapted within the existing architecture. you'll still be hands-on to an extent though the majority of your time will be spent on conducting investigations, gathering requirements and designing proof of concepts. You will have a significant role to play in influencing technical direction. You will probably be in a hands-on Architecture role within an SME, or perhaps at a 4th Line Engineer role within a larger organisation but feeling you can't learn or grow any further. You'll be given the chance to be the go-to person for everything Linux, DevOps and automation-related. You will also advise on governance and technical standards. You'll be proficient with modern Linux platforms which support distributed systems, probably with experience of DevOps - related tools like Chef and Puppet. Package is c£75k with car, bonus, good pension and more included in the benefits package. If you want to really help influence the future direction of an award-winning firm why not get in touch for an informal discussion? Based in Stoke on Trent in the North Midlands, this post is commutable within an hour from Staffordshire, Crewe, South Cheshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, Wolverhampton, Walsall.
