As Technology Retail Portfolio Lead your role will be to champion cutting edge change projects within retail technology. You will be responsible for the management of multiple large, complex and interrelated projects up to a value of circa GBP20m, whilst also acting as a coach and role model for less experienced project managers. A key success factor for this role is the ability to create maximum business value, by delivering projects quickly and with flair, whilst ensuring sufficient quality levels are maintained throughout.

This role will provide you with a genuine opportunity to innovate and drive transformational change for our retail channels. Web chat channel experience would be beneficial however an ability to act as a thought leader who can proactively remove blockers to delivery and secure appropriate sponsorship and resource from business colleagues is essential. Furthermore, you will promote and advocate continuous improvement through your teams and propose new opportunities' for us to enhance and improve our ways of working and ways of engaging with our stakeholders; including directors and senior managers.

With extensive experience of working at a senior level, the successful candidate will have the ability to demonstrate a proven track record of technology programme management of a large and complex scale, ideally in a regulated industry. Likewise, you will have strong practical experience of the complete project life cycle and relevant methodologies. Prince 2, PMI, Waterfall or experience of Agile working would be advantageous

In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will be able to provide strong leadership of large teams, which may include members from a variety of technology and business functions and third-party suppliers, especially in a challenging and fast-changing environment. You will have an independent, self-directing and delivery-focused working style, alongside strong networking skills, and the ability to leverage relationships to delivery both on time and within budget. Your commitment to talent development will be central to your success and you will be able to demonstrate credibility through coaching and inspiring others.
