What we're looking for

Yard Operative
Rugby, Warwickshire

This role involves a lot of manual handling, so we're looking for someone who wouldn't mind getting their hands dirty, is competent and comfortable using a wide range of tools and has an eye for detail. Based outdoors in the yard, your day could vary from loading deliveries to quality checking equipment returned back to the depot. Ultimately, you will work as part of a hardworking team to deliver high quality service to our customers.

Key duties:
• Inspecting all equipment arriving back at Yard, which can increase during peak periods of work
• Loading and unloading of equipment
• General maintenance of equipment, including labelling and cleaning of equipment
• Maintaining yard/regional performance through efficient operation of activities
• Safety and well-being of all staff, customers and visitors
• Ensuring upkeep of all plant, tools, property and services
• Direct and indirect responsibility for the processing of customer Orders / Returns
• Working closely with Order Management, Transport and other departments at all times
• Report all key information to the Yard Manager

What you'll need

Experience
• Health and Safety (BSC L1 or Similar)
• Forklift Counterbalance Licence (Desirable, but we'll provide training if not already obtained)
• Experience in Logistics (Desirable)

Personal qualities
• Good communication skills as you will be working in a large team
• Strong work ethic and good listening skills
• Punctual and Reliable
• Excellent attention to detail

Other criteria
• Good aptitude for Numeracy & Literacy
