As a technology leader, we are engineering and delivering HVDC solutions to meet the most complex electrical projects ever seen.

In the heart of Staffordshire, within our Global Centre of Excellence, a position has become available for a skilled Electronics Engineer. You will be developing HVDC valves and convertors for the green energy industry within Alstom's emerging department.

You will be responsible for:
* Specifying and designing power electronic elements of HVDC valves and convertors
* Incorporating Analogue and Digital designs including FPGA, Verilog and PCB Design
* Carrying out circuit simulations with tools such as Matlab, Simulink, PSCAD or EMTDC
* Ensuring products gain approval against internal quality checks by developing test specifications and designing/proving integration testing
* Travelling to other Alstom R&D centres, test laboratories and strategic suppliers across the globe

Candidate requirements:
* Experience of Power Electronic Convertors Control, Component Specifications, PCB design, Analogue Design and Digital Design (FPGA, Verilog & Microprocessors)
* Professional use of simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink
* Exposure to optical communication technologies i.e. fibre optics
* Any NPI experience would be advantageous
