Purpose of the Job:
In the heart of Staffordshire, within GE Grid Solutions' Project Delivery Team, a position has become available for a skilled DCS (Digital Control Systems) Engineer. You will be responsible for the technical content of digital and/or conventional control system projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To develop the Control System conceptual design and liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team to ensure accuracy for the technical content of the project
* Assist Project Managers & other engineers by collating accurate information
* Collecting relevant data and establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
* Performing DCS engineering, Factory testing & assisting Onsite commissioning.
* Reading & interpreting general and technical documentation including tender/contract documents, drawings, schematics, procedures and policy guidelines
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
* Effectively communicate and deliver formal technical presentations to customers
* Ability to work on multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines

DCS Engineer Requirements:
* Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
* Experience in Digital Control Systems, ideally with knowledge of substation sites. Knowledge in various communication protocols: IEC 61850, UCA 2.0, DNP3.0, Courier, MODBUS, IEC 60870-5-101 / 103 / 104
* Competency in MS Office package
* Knowledge of overall HV or MV utility applications
* Flexible approach to working hours is essential with the ability to travel to different sites
* International travel for training & discussions may be required (minimal)
* Must have a valid UK driving licence
