Senior Planning Officer

Building and Construction - West Midlands


My client, a Local Authority in West Midlands is looking for a Senior Planning Officer to join their team within the Building and Construction industry. This role will be within the public sector. The suitable candidate for the role will be responsible for managing and achieving quality planning outcomes and meeting national and local performance targets. Candidates will also have a proven record of being responsible for their own caseload of planning applications and related matters.


The Senior Planning Officer vacancy could last up to 12 Months, and the applicants must have proven experience in the following:

  • 5 years' experience dealing with S106 agreements and Small-Medium scale Majors
  • Experience in dealing with discharge of conditions
  • Must be able to hit the ground running taking on a caseload
  • MUST be a CHARTERED member of RTPI
  • MUST be a car driver


Membership of RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) is essential.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in town/urban planning (or relevant aspect)
  • Experience working within the UK Building and Construction industry
  • At least 5 years’ experience in UK Public Sector Town Planning
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
