As the Senior Web Developer you report to the Head of IT and frequentlyworking with other strategic management and board members, the SeniorWeb Developer is a key player in the ongoing development of our websites and digital strategy.Client DetailsMy client with head offices in Birmingham are a leader in converged IPsolutions across networks, infrastructure and security.The have a wide array of clients across the UK and are looking for aSenior Web Developer to join the team liaise with a number of internaland external stakeholdersDescriptionThe Senior Web Developer will manage a small but talented team of webdevelopers, and be responsible for delivering and supporting scalablemobile-first software and technologies that will deliver our strategicgoals and keep pace with growth. Project planning, co-ordination, encouraging best practices in your teamand helping them to grow as developers will all be important parts ofyour role. Much of the Senior Web Developers work will be iterative, and willinvolve integrating our sites with ERP/PIM and other business systems soyou will frequently have to plan and execute projects across teams anddepartments (especially our Marketing Department and PIM Team) togetherwith our in-house ERP Development Team, IT Support Team, and externalproviders. The Senior Web Developer will also need to ensure thatsupport is given by the appropriate staff to users.The Senior Web Developer will need to have experience of developingeasy-to-use UX and customer journeys for highly bespoke E-commercesystems featuring multilingual product catalogues, faceted search and ofintegrating with other systems and data sources via bespoke APIs (someof which you and your team will build from the ground up) using the mostappropriate technologies for each task.ProfileAs the Senior Web Developer you will need good hands on codingexperience in the following1. Scripting: PHP (OOP), Javascript (preferably OOP) Nice to have: Unit Testing experience2. Frameworks: MVC framework (eg Symfony, Laravel, Codeigniter HMVC), Bootstrap, jQuery Nice to have: Drupal3. Database: T-SQL, MySQL, some experience with Solr or other faceted search system, Nice to have: Experience of No SQL type databases (eg MongoDB)4. Markup: HTML (HTML5, XHTML), XML5. Server Admin: Debian & Ubuntu LAMP - cloud (AWS) or VMware vSphere based Nice to have: SQL Server 2007/20126.
