The Orthopaedic service is delivered from Russell's Hall Hospital in Dudley and Corbett Outpatient Centre in Stourbridge. Russell's Hall Hospital is a designated Trauma Unit in the Birmingham, Black Country, Hereford and Worcester Trauma Network with the hospital housing all of the specialties required to deliver this service. In trauma and orthopaedic surgery, our aim is to continue to provide a first class service, recognised nationally for clinical and teaching excellence. We aim to give all Orthopaedic doctors the opportunity to enhance surgical skills, and encourage personal development through educational activities which are well supported.Applicants must hold valid registration with the GMC. Interested candidates are welcome to visit the department by prior appointment., Due to changes to the Tier 2 (general) immigration route effective on 1st April 2017, we can now only offer sponsorship to experienced workers, aged 25 and over, if the commencing salary being offered is £30,000+. For new entrants, which is a person under the age of 25, a student switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2 of the immigration system or a new graduate recruit, the minimum salary threshold remains at £20,800. Nurses, paramedics and medical radiographers will be exempt from the salary threshold increases until July 2019.Level 1 (CT1/ST1 Level) in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Post is fixed-term for 24-months but may be extended subject to satisfactory appraisal. There may also be an opportunity to develop skills in soft tissue surgery with a period in Plastic surgery as part of a planned rotation between Orthopaedics and Plastic surgery. The on call rota is currently a Full Shift 1:12 rota with prospective cover to help maintain the high quality and efficient services we provide.
