Due to the new partnership between Birmingham City Council and Hays, we are now looking to recruit a Waste Prevention & Inspection Officer for Birmingham city centre and surrounding areas. Your new role
As a Waste Prevention & Inspections officer you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of waste prevention projects and programmes through a planned programme of information, education and preventative / enforcement action where appropriate. Delivering targeted / responsive actions and campaigns that ensure compliance with the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act and other relevant legislation associated with maintaining the cleanliness of the built environment. To carry out inspections of assets as directed, such as litter bins, containers, recycling banks etc and reporting accordingly. The production of health and safety will be something you are passionate about. You will be required to use a range of IT systems to record, analyse and interpret information and produce reports as required.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will obtain strong previous experience as either an Environmental warden, waste prevention officer, Environmental inspector or similar. There are no qualifications needed to apply for this role however you would need a Full UK Driving License as full training will be given. Due diligence is a crucial asset as you will be working with the local authority adhering to protocol as environmental health standards. Due to the nature of the role we need someone who is hands on and able to take on challenges, comfortable with using data to generate reports and customer service oriented.
