HR BP - Redundancy Project
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a national company who have a great reputation. Due to a change project there will be redundancies taking place and the HR Manager would like to take on a senior HR resource to manage this redundancy project from end to end. This is an ongoing assignment up to March/April 2018. It starts within a couple of weeks so you must be available at short notice. There will be extensive travel involved with this role, but also the opportunity to work from home as well as time in the Southampton office.
This is a busy and varied role, dealing with everything from scoping the strategic elements of this redundancy project to conducting the consultation meetings. The majority of your time will be spent in the early weeks organising the project which will involve around 50 people and ensuring the commercial needs of the business are met. You will also be acting as the company lead for this assignment, advising senior management on process, and then will deliver the project. After the planning phase you will spend several weeks travelling in the north of England to conduct the staff meetings which will require some overnight stays. The rest of the time is flexible and can be split between either working from home and the office in Southampton.
The Ideal Candidate
In order to be considered for this role you must be available to start at the beginning of November and be willing to travel around the country. You will need to have experience of handling and managing a large volume of redundancies. As well as having the strategic capability, you will also need to be down to earth enough to roll your sleeves up to deal with all the churn activity, such as generating the letters, conducting the meetings. You need to be confident working autonomously.
