This role supports our client’s flagship NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme – offering support to people in England who are at high risk of getting Type 2 diabetes to become healthier and avoid getting the condition.

Those referred will get tailored, personalised support, including education on healthy eating and lifestyle, help to lose weight and bespoke physical exercise programmes.

The position:

Our client are looking for a Customer Services Officer to join their National Contact Centre in Birmingham, on a full time permanent basis.

A typical day will include:

  • Making 80 – 100 outbound calls per day to clients to provide participants a brief overview of the programme which contains 13 sessions over a 10 month period with the aim to self-manage their blood sugar levels to prevent them from getting type 2 diabetes.

To flex between inbound and outbound calls answering generally queries, completing initial assessments and booking blood tests.
Updating the company database system to ensure all clinical notes are fully up to date, sessions are booked correctly and appropriate letters sent out.
Completing any cancellations, re-arrangement of sessions and also booking participants for blood tests at their local pharmacy.

About you:

  • Previous Contact Centre or customer service experience, manging inbound/ outbound calls

Enjoys working to targets and deadlines
Strong telephone manner/skills including clear diction
Ability to overcome objections
Accuracy in data entry
Caring and positive attitude
Motivated by helping others and making a difference to the lives of others
