Colour Mixer/ Technician

Our Redditch based client has presented us with a very exciting opportunity for a candidate who is looking for a career within an award-winning business that also has a leading reputation that spans well over 20 years.

They are a leading provider of leather restoration/repair and leather re-colouring products to the car leather/leather furniture industries and has established itself as a market leader. Its water based leather care, re-colouring and cleaning products provide everything needed to repair and replenish leather upholstery in the home and in the car. They are regular winners of comparison tests by the most prestigious car enthusiast magazines and they supply leather care and leather cleaner products to more national furniture retailers than any other UK company and provides worldwide delivery on all its non- aerosol products.

In addition to dye mixing, the Colour Mixer Technician will be expected to develop a knowledge and understanding of the customer base, order picking/packing systems, the furniture, motor industry and emerging markets for our client’s products. The role will involve carrying out warehouse duties, therefore flexibility is required on a day to day basis. You will also be expected to work across all product areas as demand requires, working both independently and as part of the team.

This position offers scope to develop knowledge, skills and experience that will enable the individual to benefit from anticipated long-term success of the product range. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and will then be required to operate modern equipment and will be mentored and supported accordingly.

Hours of work: 8.30am - 5.00pm although once again flexibility is required.

Essential:

  • A natural eye for colour

  • Ability to interpret colours from customer samples

  • Work as part of a team

  • Willing to work flexibly across all parts of the business including warehouse work

  • With training, answer specific customer questions concerning colours and suitable product solutions.

  • Have the confidence to learn new technology for colour matching purposes which forms part of this new production process

  • A methodical & precise approach

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of any of the following - retail, motor or furniture leather manufacturing industries.

  • Quality control/laboratory background

  • Knowledge in use of spectrophotometers
