Ethero is recruiting Line Operators for one of our key manufacturing customers based on the Staffordshire / Shropshire border - 10 minutes from Newport, Shropshire. This is a large site and part of one of the UK's largest food groups offering long term security and scope for promotion.
PERMANENT positions on offer from day one

Role Overview:

To undertake various tasks to contribute to efficient production within the packing halls, whilst following site safety rules, food safety rules, quality management and packaging procedures. To be able to operate all production lines within the designated category of either: Composites / Jar Lines, Sachet Lines or Pillow Pack Lines.
To maintain correct throughput to achieve required production targets. To have the ability to make adjustments to equipment to ensure correct weights/standards are maintained throughout the process whilst undertaking accurate quality checks and completing necessary paperwork.
There are 17 packing lines within the Packing Halls across the production areas. Operators will be required to be flexible in their approach and undertake a variety of duties across a wide variety of production lines within both departments. Line Operators should strive to support Shift Management to achieve the required output to meet our customer requirements.
Job Function / Responsibilities:

•Responsible for leading, motivating and organising an individual production line to ensure daily production targets(efficiency & yield) are achieved and customer orders are fully satisfied to the highest quality standards
•Ensure adherence to both company policy and all laws and regulations pertaining to Food Hygiene and Health & Safety.
•To ensure that all finished product meets customer specifications, positive release product as required.
•Accountable for product quality and to ensure that quality is the responsibility of everyone.
•To maintain audit ready Food Safety & Quality Management System due diligence records.
•Promote a Health & Safety, quality focused and driven culture and to monitor your work area to ensure the workplace is safe and a clean as you go' policy is maintained at all times.
•To ensure all daily checks and documentation are completed in an accurate and timely manner. To include line safe start-up checks, handover and H &S.
•Provide communication to all concerned as required, make sure detailed handovers are provided.
•To ensure the best interests of the company re always maintained
•To optimise the use of company resources and comply with the company policy and procedures
•To deputise for the Line Leader when needed
•Undertake training in accordance with the plan.
•Participate in employee development reviews (EDRs)
•Awareness of allergen environment and the controls required as such.

Person Specification:


Education / Training

Good standard of English & Maths
Experience / Skills
Minimum of 2 year previous production experience working within Operations / Production Environment -
Previous experience working within a food manufacturing / Packaging environment
Good knowledge and understanding of quality systems and procedures.
Mechanically minded with a strong work history in production
Strong motivational skills with an ability to drive improvements in terms of machinery and performance
Good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
Competencies / BehavioursAbility to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Strong communication skills an ability to engage effectively across all levels
Ability to lead and coach colleagues skilled and unskilled
Confident decision making skills
Results Orientated & Highly Motivated.
