Category Manager - Electrical, Hydraulics, Running gear & Services

Would you like to work in an exciting role alongside a Category Lead to implement agreed Category Strategies? We currently have a vacancy for a Category Manager - Electrical, Hydraulics, Running gear & Services at our site in Telford.

As a Category Manager - Electrical, Hydraulics, Running gear & Services, you will be engaging with Senior Stakeholders to understand the needs of the business, whilst influencing and managing them effectively to promote the value of Procurement

This role will provide you with the opportunity to participate in and develop the creation of BAE Systems Group Procurement strategies, and tailor Land (UK) strategy accordingly. Also, you will gain exposure to various stakeholders within the category areas.

Your main responsibilities as a Category Manager - Electrical, Hydraulics, Running gear & Services will involve:

Leading strategic sourcing activities to achieve cost savings whilst adding value and improving quality provided

Developing and executing the Land (UK) Category Strategy, developing strategies to align with the BAE Systems Global Category Strategies being developed as part of the Global Procurement Transformation

Delivering long term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery performance and provide competitive advantage to BAE Systems Land (UK)

Responsibility for the relationship and stakeholder management within the category area

A willingness to travel, and be embedded within a supplier as necessary

Providing leadership to the categories and acting as a business consultant by having an intimate knowledge of the global market of their commodity area, including future trends, cost drivers, statutory legislation and developments within the category area

Your skills and qualifications as a Category Manager - Electrical, Hydraulics, Running gear & Services:

Experience pf procurement gained within manufacturing supplier/aerospace/automotive/defence industry

CIPS would be an advantage

Ability to establish and develop details procurement and supplier strategies

Proficient leadership skills to engage motivate and influence individuals or teams to succeed

Experience of managing a Procurement Category team to deliver solutions to support the business growth strategy

Experience of Supplier performance and the impacts Operations, Scheduling, Quality, Finance, and Engineering

Experience of continued supplier cost reduction
