Orbit Independent Living, a division within Orbit Group, are recruiting an Activities Coordinator to work at our Tithe Lodge scheme based in Southam.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work with older people and join a passionate and devoted team in an Extra Care environment.

The key purpose of this post will be to work with the team and our residents to promote activities and community based leisure pursuits. Many of our customers are independent and participate in a wide range of interests and events. We are looking for a cheerful, motivated and enthusiastic person to organise activities and provide varied and appropriate activities based around the needs and desires of our residents. You will also be required to work with the on site care provider to ensure all residents are having access to appropriate activities.

Tithe Lodge Extra Care consists of 75 apartments, both shared ownership and rented, providing housing to people from the age of 55 with a diverse range of needs. It is our aim to provide support to enable residents to live as independently as they can in their own home for as long as possible. Tithe Lodge has on-site care 24 hours a day, a coffee shop and houses Tithe Place community hub with Southam Library on location.

This role will require you to work 25 hours a week. You will need to be flexible as some weekend work will be required.

About You

You must be an excellent communicator and have experience in engaging and interacting with elderly vulnerable adults with a diverse range of needs. This will require working with outside agencies, fundraising and promoting Tithe Lodge to the outside community; so similar experience is necessary.

We are looking for passionate individuals with imagination and originality. You will be resourceful and be able to think outside the box. You will be compassionate and keen to assist vulnerable individuals in order to ensure an excellent quality of life.

Strong IT skills are essential as you will be expected to provide a newsletter and calendar of activities on a monthly basis.

This will be an interesting and creative role for the right person and will allow you to be part of a close knit team within the community.
