Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Salary: £25K-£30K

Location: Walsall, Wolverhampton

Hours of work: Mon-Thurs 8-5…… Fri 8-1

Description of Main Duties and Responsibilities

* To be the primary contact for Supplier Quality Concerns or Issues.
* Familiar with TS16949, ISO 9000, VDA6 and ISO 14001 quality systems.
* 8D problem solving/planning & metrics generation.
* To be responsible for the quality liaison with the suppliers for completion and presentation of all PPAP requirements for sample inspection on Special, Prototype and fully released PSW parts.
* To liaise with Purchase and perform any Supplier related inspections, containments, returns and other activities that are required within the company procedures.
* Perform First Off and Last of Inspection activities for processed parts and assemblies when required.
* To ensure supplier related and internal documents are provided to assist the production facility within the company.
* To control and advise any solutions for rectification of supplied parts or assemblies that are subject to any customer concerns.
* To supply and complete internal and external documentation dealing with any customers quality concerns related to supplier products / processes.
* To actively participate with management members in the overall management of the company quality systems and procedures.
* To adhere to the quality systems that are operating within the company.
* To be actively involved within cross-functional teams in problem solving, continuous improvement and advanced engineering.
* To assist and control any internal or external concessions or deviations that that are applicable to products supplied by the company.
* To implement and control any initial capability requirements or ongoing Statistical Process Control techniques that are introduced within the company.
* 6 - Panel problem solving.
* Thorough experience of using Ishikawa, 5 Why, SPC and Is and Is not Tools.
* Generation and issue of Work Instructions and Control Plans as required.
* Experienced in Supplier Development, raw material through to presswork & BIW.
* Project management experience & MS Office skills.
* Calibration/measurement knowledge using a range of measurement
* Understand technical drawings, CAD and nomenclature and material tensile strength.
* Personal characteristics required are - Team Player but also able to work on own initiative. Positive & enthusiastic and able to persevere in difficult, challenging situations being steadfast in the face of negative opposition.

The position is not finite in its functions, as there may be times where the Quality department may ask you to partake and get involved in duties not in a daily routine……… therefore the successful candidate must be flexible with the ability to adapt.
