Financial Systems Accountant


£Competitive Salary + Bonus + 6% Pension + Healthcare + 27 days holidays

18-month contract

The Opportunity:

This new role has been created to provide valuable support during the migration of the Legal & General business. You will report into the Financial Systems and Data Governance Manager and work closely with another Financial Systems Accountant. The role will be split into:

Business As Usual

·Ensure the data feeds into the Oracle general ledger meet the required level of quality

·Update of control accounts

·Responsible for system performance and incident management, working closely with IT

·Ensuring good communication is maintained with the finance team

·Maintaining an appreciation for good controls and keeping evidence

·Problem solving

·Working closely across the whole of the finance team, including the Executive and some interface with the Customer Service team.

Change Projects

·Common workplace – merging systems onto one common platform

·Digital Workplace Strategy – moving the business towards being a move versatile, flexible workplace and readiness testing

·General Ledger Upgrade – development and customisation work and helping to implement new processes

Skills & Experience

·You will need the confidence to reach out and engage with the wider business and finance team proactively, rather than wait for problems to come to you.

·You will have the ability to translate technical issues into layman’s terms.

You will have strong previous experience in working with complex financial systems (Oracle is the GL system) and MI reporting
