ASSISTANT BILLING MANAGER
Totum Partners are delighted to be working with a top 20 UK legal firm which has experienced significant headcount and revenue growth over the past few years. An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Billing Manager to join a Revenue Control team and assist the Billing Manager in the overall management of the Firm's billing function and management of the billing and e-billing teams
The main duties of the role will be to assist with bill processing during busy periods for the team, particularly at the month end and ensure that all bills submitted for processing comply with client guidelines and all relevant VAT and Solicitor Account Rules. You will also assist the Billing Manager with management of the firm's billing teams to include training and appraisals and you will also arrange regular team meetings in relation to sharing knowledge and process changes. You will work with the Billing Manager to document all billing standard operating procedures and ensure these are updated on a regular basis and posted to the intranet. Working with the billers to ensure the billing pages on the intranet in respect of the billing requirements for the Firm's centrally billed clients are kept up to date. The role also requires assisting the Billing Manager with year-end and half year end provisioning in relation to the firm's volume rebate and value accounts.
The Assistant Billing Manager will monitoring and management of the Firm's volume rebates and value accounts and will agree the volume rebate / value account calculations with the Relationship Partner and raising any related credit notes and payment at the appropriate time. You will work closely with the billers who are responsible for centralised client billing protocols to ensure ageing WIP is reviewed regularly and where necessary escalated to the appropriate stakeholders.
Applicants need a minimum 2 year's experience within the legal sector. You must have working knowledge of SAR's and VAT compliance and have some supervisory experience in managing small teams. You must be a proactive and innovative individual with a high level of computer literacy especially within MS Excel.
