My client is a leading energy solutions company providing technical engineering, design and project management services across the UK in all areas of the industry. We are expanding and looking to bring in a Gas CP Supervisor within commutable travelling distance to Northampton.

The Gas Supervisor is responsible for the management and supervision of onsite installation of the gas networks to the required standards.
The Gas Supervisor is responsible to the Contract Manager for the purposes of contractual management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•Responsible for the day to day safe operations of all GIRS gas teams
•Responsible to the Contract Manager
•Work safely at all times and ensure safety of all those working around
•Prepare programmes of work
•Work in accordance with GIRS registration operational procedures
•Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with Health and
safety, quality and environment procedures
•Ensure that all site specific risk assessments are completed
•Carry out toolbox talks if required
•Carry out technical audits on each team at a minimum of one per month
and in accordance with technical audit procedure
•Ensure that all onsite works are carried out in accordance with method
statements and risk assessments
•Ensure maintenance and quality of the GIRS project Certification and
Completion File for the Adopting industry companies.
•Implement, manage and monitor all GIRS accreditation and associated
•Undertake Safety Technical Competency evaluation of the Team Leader
and Operatives (if deemed competent to carry out) and ensure that all personnel on site have been evaluated under the company Safety Technical Competency procedure
•Procure plant and materials only from suppliers on the GIRS approved
supplier list and assist the procurement department in assessing this.
•Act as Competent Person or Authorising Engineer as required and if
assessed as competent to do so.
•Manage Routine Operations in accordance with GIRS registration
procedures and produce a certification file prior to commissioning of new
gas mains
•Report any possible project variations and act as authorised person in
accordance with the GIRS registration contract variation procedure
•Ensure all statutory notifications for street works are in place prior to
commencement of any works
•Evaluate work orders and determine equipment and material requirements
to safely execute operational activities in accordance with relevant
legislation and statutory obligations.
•Work closely with the client to ensure customer satisfaction

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

•Relevant qualifications may include Gas Network Engineering Management •NVQ Level 4 (GNEM) or Network Construction Operations NCO (Gas).
•Utility Network Construction Supervisor (UNCS (gas) preferred
•Relevant operational experience (5 - 10 years) in the gas industry
•NRSWA Supervisor
•Possible SCO1,2,4 & 5 qualifications as CP or AE
