Our client based in Coventry is looking to recruit an Installation Engineer to work within the UK, this post is mainly UK based but may require short visits abroad for installation purposes.

Candidate must have detailed knowledge of complex fibre networks, splicing and testing. Sky network as an example needs splicer and OTDR etc.

Salary up to GBP28K depending on experience

Permanent role

The overall purpose of the job is to provide installation activities and cable termination of supplied systems and demonstrate to the customer a mechanically complete system that meets technical requirements.

General Responsibilities

To install equipment at site then a pre-determined drawing or documentation package that exceeds the customer requirements.

Must have experience in Rail Fibre splicing and testing, rail copper jointing and testing, CAT5 & CAT6 termination and testing. A valid clean driving license, PTS and Coss Desirable CSCS ore equivalent.

Specific Responsibilities

Mechanical completion of individual sub-systems

Cable installation. Termination and test

Hard or soft copy production of test results

Completion of works within project timescales

Detailed daily Project reports to the UK Project Manager/Project Eningeer installation as appropriate

Equipment, Cable and Cable core labeling to customer specification

Ability to implement work pack instructions

Produce red line Mark ups

Mentoring of Junior Engineers

Key Skills & Qualifications

Required - Proven installation capability in systems
Cable Test Capability

Preferred

Installation capability of the following systems

Fibre, CCTV, PABX, PA, SDH, Radio, Microwave, Met, PDH, Satelite, Security Systems, LAN's, WAN's. Entertainment , cabling and power supplies.

Preferred Education qualifications

4 or more GCSE's in relevant discipline
