An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Night Care Assistant to join an Award Winning Team at Silver Birches in Chelmsley Wood working 20 hours per week.

Silver Birches was accredited with two awards recently, Outstanding Team of the Year 2018, in recognition of a team who are innovative and empowered to make a difference to put the customer at the very heart of everything they do, and a member of staff scooped Apprentice of the Year having successfully completed an apprenticeship and secured a permanent care role.

Silver Birches is a residential care home in Chelmsley Wood, caring for frail, elderly adults and those with dementia. When support is needed, you will be on hand to meet individual needs, whether they are physical, emotional, cultural or psychological.

You will play a key role in supporting the service users with all aspects of personal care and respect the rights and choices of the individuals. To do this, you must be honest, reliable and trustworthy.

It is essential that you are able to always maintain a clean and safe environment in order to meet the needs of the service user. You will ensure that you provide care and support as identified in individual care plans and in turn accurately keep records.

The successful candidate will be confident as there is some lone working involved. You will support the night routine, carry out observations and check on residents throughout the night. Excellent communication skills are required both verbal and written as you will be maintaining and updating records.

Experience of working with older people and/or vulnerable adults and providing personal care is desirable but not essential. However, you must have a willingness to undergo any training required.
