Risk and Assurance Manager

Job Purpose

To develop, manage and embed the risk, business planning and business compliance reporting frameworks

To organise and develop 2nd line management Assurance programme to verify the business controls in place throughout and report on key findings to embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Provide expert opinion and guidance to management teams across NGP in respect of business risk and compliance management processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and manage business risk and compliance reporting frameworks that apply across the entity
  • Develop and manage the risks process to ensure appropriate management decisions are made and all identified risks are mitigated
  • Plan and carry out business assurance reviews agreed by the senior leadership team
  • Fulfil the Business Continuity Lead role, providing support and co-ordination across
  • Develop line manager capability in risk, compliance reporting and business continuity planning
  • Support other governance processes as necessary
  • Play an active role in the communication and demonstration of ethical behaviours, through the role of Ethics Champion

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know How

  • Significant experience in audit and/or business assurance activities
  • Strong working knowledge of the approach to risk, compliance and business continuity management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrable experience of technical or business report writing and presentations. An ability to communicate, influence and if necessary challenge across all disciplines and levels
  • An analytical approach, with demonstrable ability to understand complex processes, to identify and extract key information from systems and individuals, identify deficiencies and recommend actions for correction and improvement
  • Good organising and planning skills, with experience of producing project plans and monitoring progress
