Regional Finance Manager - Rugby - GBP45 - GBP50k + Car

Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting a Construction organisation in Rugby with the recruitment of a Finance Manager who will be responsible for the continued success of the business and to further the provision of financial support to its operations in the Midlands.

The day to day will offer a Qualified Accountant the opportunity to take ownership of a Multi-Million pound business unit who have experienced exceptional growth in the past 3 years and now require an individual who can operate in a stand alone role supporting the business with financial support, ensuring that the operational teams are provided with constant insight to maximise commercial opportunities.

This role would suit an individual who has aspirations of moving into a leadership role in the future. The day to day will include meetings with the Group and Managing Directors to challenge them on new investments, ad hoc financial information and company performance. The ability to challenge and influence will be essential alongside a warm and outgoing personality with willingness to engage with non-finance teams assisting with target setting, WIP and budgeting and forecasting.

As the Regional Finance Manager in Rugby daily interaction will be with non-finance and they will be seen as the "go to" person for all financial matters. The more mundane and transactional tasks at month end will be processed by the shared service team who are based in Manchester (travel will be required for board and leadership team meetings) leaving the Regional Finance Manager to produce management accounts, build relationships with the operational teams and do more of the "value add" work.

A background in a business facing, fast paced and hands on environment will be key for this role alongside a collaborative approach and a hunger to drive change. Due to the level of responsibility and leadership team interaction, it will require a Qualified Accountant (ACA,ACCA or CIMA) who has ambitions to progress into a Financial Controller or move into MD position in the future.

Regional Finance Manager in Rugby responsibilities will include:

  • Production of monthly management accounts
  • Budgeting and forecasting for two companies
  • Target setting and calculation of Operational and Sales team bonuses
  • Producing detailed benefit & deficits schedules of regional balance sheets to the CFO.
  • Provide insight on financial performance to Operational Directors
  • Continuous improvement of all financial processes
  • To be seen as a critical friend to the business with an aim of providing added value and ensuring profits are maximised
