The Pontesbury Project
THE PONTESBURY PROJECT has been commissioned to provide a new service for a young man with autism and learning disabilities and are looking to recruit more staff
We pay above average salaries to reflect the unsociable hours and which will reflect the experience of applicants although newcomers to support are welcome. We call our support staff "co-ordinators"; they are expected to provide a seamless service which takes into account all presenting need and liaise with management to ensure resources are always available to promote the individual's quality of life. We have a very low staff turnover and regard our employees as important assets with opinions which count. Training is on-going and mutually agreed; we will also fund any training which although not mandatory may count towards any career path an employee aspires to take. Should this be expensive and you leave within a year of starting any such course, we do ask you to agree to repayment terms. Former employees have gone on to become registered managers, psychologists, physio therapists & social workers.
This new service will ensure the young service user leads a meaningful lifestyle where day to day living offers opportunities for learning and promoting independence. The environment has been designed to assist and stimulate and support staff will be expected to share their own personal skills and interests whilst working in a team setting. Mutually beneficial working relationships are an essential requirement and individuals are expected to understand the impact they can have on others. You will need to be enthusiastic, energetic, caring and have a sense of humour.
The successful applicants will be rewarded by above average workplace benefits including health and insurance schemes.
