Role Overview:
Highways is one of six business units that make up the Galliford Try Infrastructure Division. It delivers projects for national and local clients.
The team has expanded in recent times and with strong project performance along with successful work winning, we are continuing to build and re-structure the business including operations for Highways England, Local Authorities and Highway Maintenance.

This role will be working within our team dedicated to projects on behalf of Local Authorities, comprising of various road build, improvement and construction projects ranging from GBP1-GBP25M in value. As Site Agent you will report to and support a Project Manager, undertaking all aspects of project delivery and management with on a single large project or on a number of small schemes. You will also contribute and have involvement in the pre-construction progress, supporting the bid, contract and commercial management team within the business unit.
We are continuing to deliver and secure projects with local authorities providing a continuous portfolio of projects in our Midlands Region.

Key Accountabilities:
Ensure all necessary pre-construction documentation has been completed in a timely manner, en-sure that the physical construction works can be executed safely, to the defined quality and in line with the project programme/outputs. This pre-construction documentation will include, but not lim-ited to: WPP's, Quality Plans, ITP's, Temporary works designs.

Management of Key Performance Indicators that are defined by both client and company.
Ensure all works are executed in accordance with the companies BMS (Business Management Sys-tem)

To direct the necessary labour, plant, staff and equipment to achieve completion on time, to specifi-cation and within budget.

To programme works in conjunction with nominated contractor and provide short term and as built programmes as required.

Liaise with the design team to ensure the design deliverables are received in time for efficient deliv-ery of the site works

Monitor that the Buying team and commercial department order the correct materials and sub-contract services in good time to meet contract objectives.

Manage site teams by monitoring performance against contract targets and instigating any neces-sary corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with Safety Policy and Health and Safety Regulations. Ensure subcontractors comply with GT Standards.

Experience and Qualifications:
• Minimum of HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
• Must have Civil Engineering experience gained with a civil engineering main contractor (UK or overseas)
• Experience in a project environment
• Highway experience with main contractor is a distinct advantage
• CSCS Managers Category
• Temporary works experience preferable
• Ability to scrutinise design information and provide value adding input to ensure the optimum solutions are developed for the construction phase.
