Our client is a chic boutique hotel in the heart of Berkshire with Beautifully appointed bedrooms, with an elegant fine dining restaurant, exquisite private dinning/meeting rooms and wonderful outside terraces. The restaurant its self is run by a Michelin star chef.

* Ensure all food preparation is to the specification outlined by the Head Chef and/or the Lead Chef on the shift
* Deputise for the Sous Chef in his/her absence
* Ensure all recipes and preparation requirements are met
* Respond in a proactive manner to the Head Chef and Managerial requests to undertake
* Prepare food at an efficient pace
* Ensure temperature, seasoning and flavours are to specifications
* Ensure readiness for service and the pace is appropriate for peak trade
* Ensure any problems or uncertainties in the handling or preparation of food are escalated to the Head Chef
* Contribute, as requested by the Head Chef, to rota planning and training
* Comply and implement all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements
* Complete HACCP recording in line with requests from the lead Chef on the shift and/or the Comply with Allergen requirements
* Comply with COSHH requirements

General Requirements:

* Lead by example, setting the pace and standards for junior kitchen staff
* Praise and recognise good performance for junior kitchen staff
* Be respectful and careful with kitchen equipment, avoiding any damage and reporting any such damage immediately
* Demonstrate good verbal communication skills
* Be pro-active and have a positive attitude to problem solving and tasks that need to be undertaken
