Location: Staffordshire

An automotive parts manufacturer in the Staffordshire area is searching for an established Manufacturing Manager to become an integral part of the management team and drive forward performance and efficiency to benefit both the businesses employees and customers. There will be a large focus on Continuous Improvement activities and a general Lean approach to achieving high results.

Key responsibilities for the successful Manufacturing Manager will include:

* Leading a team of engineers focusing on tooling, reliability and continuous quality improvements
* Delivering start to end production requirements, working closely with the Supply Chain function
* Supporting waste reduction and efficiency output procedures
* Identifying and initiating Quality Improvements through the effective use of core Quality Tools and techniques
* Initiating and promoting Continuous Improvement activities such as Lean Management, 5s, Kaizan events, cost / waste reduction techniques etc.
* Promoting a lean philosophy throughout the business
* Implementing successful KPI’s – monitoring team’s activities in line with business objectives
* Ensuring safe working conditions are maintained and continuously improved upon
* Working cross functionally with other departments, customers and suppliers providing problem solving and process improvements when required

The successful Manufacturing Manager will possess the following attributes:

* Demonstrated experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment – Automotive preferential
* The ability to challenge processes and introduce change to the business in a positive and proactive manner
* Track record of managing multi-disciplined engineering teams, (Production, Manufacturing, NPI)
* A history of utilising Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques such as 8D problem solving
* Strong motivational management skills
* Experience of coaching / mentoring staff
* ISOH / NEBOSH or any Health and Safety qualification is advantageous
