Facilities Service Manager
Central Shropshire
£35,000 to £38,000

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Facilities Manager to join our Shropshire based manufacturing client. This role falls within the company’s engineering department and the successful candidate will be responsible for all site facilities including buildings, roads and services etc.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement short/medium and long term maintenance plans, ensuring facilities’ needs are prioritised and plans are within budget
• Organise and schedule any work required
• Develop periodic checks and monitor areas of activity and critical need
• Oversee a team of contractors and onsite operatives, coordinating the completion of site tasks and ensuring jobs are prioritised effectively
• Implement an online maintenance request log, via company intranet
• Monitor the condition of site surfaces, internal and external, and ensure short and long term plans for maintenance are carried out effectively
• Assess the skills, tools and requirements of onsite operatives to ensure they are able to fulfil duties
• Manage annual service contracts
• Maintain adequate supplies of required stock
• Support with projects related to ongoing maintenance and improvements
• Ensure site operatives’ tasks are logged on the company system and updated with all relevant information required
• Adhere to company health & safety regulations and procedures and ensure a safe working environment is maintained
• Support with the reporting and investigation of accidents and incidents
• Carry out risk assessments for tasks that fall within your area of responsibility
• Support with contractor inductions and supervision where required, providing guidance and training to newly hired team members
• Liaise with suppliers, build relationships and assess ongoing workmanship and methods

Skills & Experience required:
• Excellent knowledge of processes and procedures relating to facilities, maintenance and repairs including; buildings, internal and external surfaces and services
• Experience of working within a similar role
• HND qualification in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and understand technical language
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build successful working relationships
• Confident IT user with awareness of MS packages

Additional Skills beneficial to the role:
• Understanding of Prince2 Project Management
• Lean Six Sigma qualification or training
• Experience of writing technical specifications
• Knowledge of CDM regulations
• Experience of Asset Management
• Use of CAD packages
• Understanding of parts fabrication processes

This role comes with flexible working hours between 08.00 and 17.00, however occasionally there may be a requirement for longer working hours or weekend cover due to special circumstances e.g. breakdowns, outages
