Transport Administrator

We are recruiting for a Transport Administrator on behalf of our clients based in the Lichfield area. As a Transport Administrator your key role involves liaising closely with internal/external depots and suppliers, FLT Drivers, HGV drivers and internal staff.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Transport Administrator
·To deal with drivers queries over the phone and via email
·To support with all administrative functions within the office
·Data input information onto in house system
·To liaise with internal and external depots
·Liaise with FLT drivers and HGV drivers
·Ensure all FLT operatives complete and sign a pre-operational check on equipment, such as fork lift truck, scan guns, sweeper and shunt motors (where applicable) . Ensure defects are repaired, or damage investigated. Highlight any issues regarding equipment use to the hub supervisor
·Highlight any freight presentation issues as reported by the FLT operatives to the inputting member by telephone and e-mail. If problems persist report the inputting member to the hub supervisor or day manager
·Investigate the reasons 09.00, 10.00, and SATAM are left in the bays. Where required arrange for the pallets to be sent via a local courier. Ensure the courier sheets are correctly updated. Also ensure notes are placed on the Sirius system against each consignment to explain the reasons for the courier

Details of a Transport Administrator
·Salary: up to £20,000 PA
·Working hours: Monday to Friday 9:30am to 18:00pm [Half Hour Break]
·1 Saturday per month – 7:30am – 11:30am [Half Hour Break]
·Location: Lichfield
·Temporary to Permanent

Skill and Experience of a Transport Administrator
·Strong back bone and good communication skills.
·Good attention to detail
·Transport Background (Preferably)
·Friendly disposition with confident telephone manner and able to communicate with customers and suppliers
·Literate and numerate with a good knowledge of Microsoft office
·Able to work on own and in a team
·The ability to prioritise workload
