Learning and Development Advisor – Salary £31,000 - £35,000

Part Time – 3 days a week – 22.5hrs - Permanent Role

We are currently recruiting a L&D Advisor on part time job share basis. The FTE salary will be between £31,000-35,000. This is a permanent role to start ASAP.

The role will support the Learning and Development (L&D) team in the delivery of L&D initiatives and our committed obligations around L&D to the Department. Reporting to the Senior Learning and Development Manager the post holder will specifically be responsible for Traineeships and Apprenticeships. A key part of the role will also be to manage new management development programmes and to also redesign and manage our internal performance development review process.

The ideal candidate will have experience of setting up apprenticeship schemes, apprenticeship frameworks and the apprenticeship levy. The post holder will also have experience of successfully project managing and developing new learning & development and talent programmes. A HR qualification e.g CIPD, Occupational Psychology is desirable.

Key Accountabilities

Apprenticeships, Traineeships and Graduate Programmes

* Manage early career development initiatives and the management of high potentials, young people to gain the best leverage from the apprenticeship levy.
* Set up a new traineeship programme for young people seeking employment within the sector.
* Lead on the delivery of the apprenticeship plan including the recruitment, coordination and organisation of placements across the organisation.
* Provide support and mentorship to our apprentices, traineeships, graduates and Princes Trust.
* Monitor overall performance; provide career advice and succession planning of apprentices, graduates, traineeships and Princes Trust participants.

Performance Development Review process

* Manage and review the current Performance Development Review (PDR) process.

* Manage the process of converting the current paper based PDR process into an electronic solution.

* Collate, analyse and action any learning needs that arise from PDP process in collaboration with stakeholders and reflective of business need.

Core Projects

* Support with external recognition and accreditation, such as IiP and HR Awards.
* Work with the engagement manager to identify core improvement work streams to increase employee engagement.
* Launch a new internal mentoring and shadowing programme.
* Responsible for the project management


* Manage the overall delivery, coordination and identification of core learning and development programmes with the support of the Senior Learning & Development Manager.
* Liaise with course providers, brief them on course content, and monitor overall performance of the programmes.
* Manage the training request approval process and applications for sponsorship with the support of the Senior Learning & Development Manager.

Communication and Promotion

* Communications and promotion of L&D initiatives-Yammer/edepot/Sharepoint.

* Advise and respond to all learning and development queries in a timely manner.


* Partner and develop strong relationships across the organisation

* Excellent customer focus with the ability to set up new programmes and respond to needs.

* Influence senior stakeholders to ensure that all learning is aligned to business need and adds value.


* Provide support to the Trade Union Reps.
* Provide additional project support to the Senior Learning and Development Manager as required.
