Clinic Lead Nurse - Theatre & Clinic

£35,000 Per year


We are delighted to be working with one of the leading Cosmetic Surgery Groups in the UK to find them a clinic lead nurse for their clinic in Birmingham.

The Service

The company provides a range of cosmetic and bariatric surgery procedures including Breast augmentation, liposuction, Rhinoplasty, Blepharoplasty etc to a UK leading standard.

The Candidate

You must be RGN qualified and have a valid NMC registration and have experience working in a surgical environment previously. My client is looking for a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience and have experience with pre and post-operative care, theatre, wound care and venepuncture, CQC knowledge, mentoring junior staff, communication, patient management, infection control, policy and protocol implementation etc..


  • Participate fully as a team member, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues to support a cohesive team and achievement of team objectives.
  • Demonstrate through a holistic approach to care and day to day clinical issues, an understanding of evidence based practice.
  • To liaise with Surgeons regarding procedures and requirements.
  • Organisation of care provision within the operating theatre while co-ordinate patient care and theatre lists with other members of the clinic team.
  • Perform pre-operative assessment and phlebotomy to surgical patients.
  • Assist/scrub and/or act as runner with various types of cosmetic surgical procedures.
  • Provide anaesthetic support to anaesthetist.
  • Admit and discharge patients to on-site theatre department.
  • Provide post operative wound care, advice and support to patient following their procedures.
  • Develop a skill mix that can be adopted in all areas of patient care including our patients.
  • Overall responsibility for clinical stock control and ordering.
  • Liaison with outside suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Flexibility around business requirements.
  • Cover the out of hours on call phone according to the on call rota.
  • A high standard of professionalism and standards is maintained at all times.


  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
  • Previous Registered Manager with CQC advantageous.
  • Theatre experience and or pre-assessment and wound care.
  • Experienced scrub and assisting skills with aesthetic/cosmetic surgery advantageous.
  • Experience in practice development, utilisation and project management.
  • Previous team/staff management.
  • Stock and budget control.
  • Experience within the private sector preferable but not essential.


My client is looking to pay a base salary of £35,000 pa plus benefits which will be discussed further at interview
