JOB DETAILS**

**JOB TITLE:** Customer Service Operative/Drivers Reception Desk **REPORTING TO:** Customer Service Manager

**JOB PURPOSE**

To control the daily operations of the Drivers Reception desk by performing all booking and administrative duties in accordance with company procedures.

To process daily all haulier and customer requests to satisfy customer expectations and to support other operational activities by providing effective communication to customers and all colleagues.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**

* Education minimum: GCSEs grade C and above and/or NVQ Level 2
* IT literate: competent with Microsoft Office, in particular, Excel
* Previous administrative experience required, preferably in a logistics environment
* Experience of working in a team in a busy office environment
* Excellent communication skills and professional telephone manner
* The ability to establish effective working relationships with all site personnel

**KEY RESULTS AREAS**

* Assist the Customer Service Manager and Customer Service Supervisor to deliver all aspects of Customer Service to the required standards
* Show flexibility towards start times and working hours, with the occasional need to work unsociable shifts
* Work as part of a team ensuring operational performance targets, objective and goals are achieved
* Liaise with hauliers and customers via telephone/email, providing booking times/refs and updating bookings diary, chasing late deliveries where required
* Process all driver deliveries and collections efficiently and in an agreed manner, satisfying all agreed time constraints and ensuring the site runs productively and safely at all times
* Deal with all drivers in a respectful and helpful manner
* Distribute all documentation to the appropriate personnel in a timely and efficient manner
* Manage the hazardous labels and eyewash stock, replenishing when required
* Control MSDS files, updating when required
* Manage Permits to Work – completing and updating register
* Check emergency lighting monthly, updating register
* Working closely with the Operations Manager to perform Risk Assessments, reviewing annually
