I'm currently recruiting a number of field based sales opportunities for one of the world's largest service based businesses. Naturally with a company of their size the possibilities for progression are endless, so this would suit an ambitious, self-motivated Business Development Manager who is keen to progress within their sales career - and be well looked after in the process.

This Business Development Manager role would be focused on an East & West Midlands territory, therefore someone living near Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Warwick, Solihull, Derby, Leicester or Nottingham would be perfect as the role would be home based.

Basic Salary - £35k - £40k + car + uncapped commission.

We're looking for an out & out new business hunter. Someone who is more than happy to pick up the phone to create their own leads/appointments, then attend them & look to close a sales - a true 360 degree Business Development Manager role.

They have a large inside sales team & a large marketing team (as you'd expect given their size) who will pass you leads & appointments, but we're not interested in someone who will wait for the work to come to them - we're looking for a do-er. We're after someone who will take the bull by the horns and go & get their own leads, someone who will treat anything else that comes their way as an added bonus, not their only pipeline.

There's no account management involved in this role - again they have a large team for that too, so once you've won a new client it will get passed onto the account management team, leaving you free to go after new business again. The commission scheme is attractive & uncapped, so you'll be well rewarded for hitting & exceeding your targets.

You may have gathered that the successful candidate will be a completely new business focused Business Development Manager, who incidentally must have a proven field sales track record. Now in terms of industry experience the only prerequisites that they have is that you have sold a service B2B & that you have a solutions led / consultative approach, as that's what works in their market, what that service might be is largely irrelevant.

Outside of that we're looking for a self-motivated (given you'll be home based), organised (as you'll be managing your own diary), ambitious (as you'll go far within the business as a whole) & target driven/money motivated individual. You must also be comfortable selling both over the phone & in person. Did I mention that you need to be a new business hunter?!
