FCC Environment has a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Mechanic to carry out routine maintenance of the contract fleet at our site at Hereford.The role will also involve working from the Rotherwas Workshop and other locations within the Herefordshire County.

The Mechanic working hours are Monday to Friday – 8.00am to 5.00pm with 60minute break during the day.There is also a rota of being on call from 6am every third week to deal with breakdowns. You will be required to work overtime to ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled.Saturday and Sunday working will only be required to cover for Christmas working arrangements.

Mechanic responsibilities will be:

·To organise effective operational procedures and methods to ensure that contract

·requirements are met

·To ensure that all work allocated is completed to an acceptable standard, with regard to time and objectives

·To ensure that regulations are implemented and maintained in respect of the Health and Safety at Work Act and other statutory regulations

·To participate with ongoing training to remain sufficiently skilled

·Prepare and submitrelevant paperwork / worksheets / records etc.

·Have good computer skills (excel) and be able to operate other electronic equipment relevant to the task

·Ensure all operations are legally compliant and systems and procedures work within the quality and environmental systems in place.

What skills and qualities will our Mechanic need?

·Class 2 License preferable

·City and Guilds in mechanical engineering

·Computer literate

·Experience of Transport legislation
