I am currently working with an AJ100 practice in Birmingham that I thought it could be of interest. The organisation are an award-winning architectural practice with offices in the UK currently seeking talented and motivated individuals with excellent design ability to work on a range of interesting projects.

They have expertise in various projects across multiple sectors: Cultural, Education, Healthcare, Hospitality, Leisure Residential and Commercial sectors. They are currently going through a recruitment drive where they will require Architects across various levels.

They can interview someone as early as tomorrow and the interview format is normally a one stage process. They are looking to conduct interviews over the next two weeks and can wait up to 3 months for an individual to start but could otherwise have someone start as soon as possible.

This role will require someone with a minimum of 3 years UK experience working on Residential projects with a portfolio that demonstrates both design and technical ability. A broad RIBA stage experience is also important to the practice. The studio is a sociable, energetic environment and the team enjoys actively networking within the creative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate and assist with Senior Architects on developing the design language of key residential projects in the UK.
  • Work with a team of Architectural Technicians on preparing drawing packages, planning applications and construction drawings for UK Residential projects.
  • Provide Assistance developing design/technical aspects of projects as required. Experience working on your own will be an advantage.
  • Prepare presentations for schemes internally
  • Network at social events on behalf of the practice
  • Actively collaborate on site assisting with management of tasks and preparing surveys as required
  • Have a passion for design and an interest in developments within the Architecture industry
  • Be knowledgeable of current design trends

RELATED JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

The following requirements are essential to this position:

  • RIBA Part 2 qualification or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience working on residential projects
  • A very strong understanding of UK building regulations with relevant UK practice experience
  • Relevant software knowledge with a thorough understanding of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign
  • Proficient experience preparing drawing packages which includes: GA's, RCP's, WC's, Showers, Curtain Walling and Windows
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • A portfolio of works that communicates your experience of the above

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

The following experience is non-essential but will be advantageous to the role:

  • Project knowledge working with Revit
