We are currently recruiting for a Buyer position on behalf of our client who are a well-established engineering company within Wolverhampton. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with purchasing experience and the following skills;
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong IT skills
- Able to work on own initiative
- Excellent phone manner and confidence talking on the phone as they will be speaking to customers daily on the phone.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good customer services skills
- Professional attitude
Duties will include:
- Drive a spend reduction by negotiating with suppliers on cost and service level agreements
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received, and receipt all purchase orders ready for payment.
- Manage day to day supplier relationships
- Manage supplier performance activities and take appropriate action when performance is below expectation
