Each action we undertake is done on behalf of our customers,as meeting their expectations makes us feel good.IT Apprentices work with cutting-edge technology to keep our businessrunning smoothly by resolving complex hardware, software, server andinfrastructure issues, for our operations network.As an IT Apprentice you will work in a one of our fulfilment centresacross 8 locations: Coalville, Coventry, Peterborough, Tilbury,Doncaster, Milton Keynes, Hemel Hempstead and Warrington, where you willlearn about the general fulfilment centre business and theinterconnecting system layers which are crucial to its ongoing success,both today and tomorrow.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECTJoin us as an IT Apprentice and you'll build your skills over a 36 monthperiod, including both classroom based training hosted offsite andcomplimented with Amazon's on-the-job IT staff training program,delivered by our specialist teams on site in our Fulfilment Centers. OurIT Engineers at site also provide mentoring support for our apprentices.You will be working with systems and technology focused on deliveringthe highest service and delighting our end customer.Alongside extensive development of your technical skills, you will alsogrow your abilities in crucial complementary areas like organization,scheduling, communication and presentation skills.During your first year you will be introduced to the fundamentaltechnical skills you need to become a successful Amazon IT employee byattending week-long offsite workshop modules covering Networking andArchitecture, Mobile Operating Systems, Cloud Services, Business Processand Coding and Logic.During your second year you will continue to expand on your knowledge,diving deeper into the overall skillsets our Technicians and Engineersneed to be industry leaders.Modules this year will include, Network Principle and Systems,Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 and Technical Securityand Threats and Vulnerabilities.WHERE WILL IT TAKE YOUNot only will you receive invaluable learning, development andprofessional experience, you will also gain a number of qualifications: Infrastructure Technician Level 3 MTA Networking/ Mobility and Devices/Cloud Fundamentals Network Engineer L4 (equivalent to first year of degree study) Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) - Installing and ConfiguringWindows Server 2012 R2Plus, after graduating the IT Apprentice programme, you'll be fullyqualified to apply to join our IT team permanently in any of a number ofdifferent roles as you embark on a challenging and exciting career.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORAnyone can join as an IT Apprentice as long as you are over 18 (with theright to work in the UK) and 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) C or aboveincluding English and Maths. Ideally you would have attained 'A' levels.We are unable to employ under-18s in our Fulfilment Centres due to thenature of some of the inventory.Personal QualitiesYou are naturally customer service obsessed; thriving on the opportunityto work as part of a team to achieve a shared goal. Able to operate with reliability and a high level of attention to detail You are able to read, understand and communicate in English with theability to interact and engage comfortably with people at all levels ofthe business You will have a hands-on attitude, flexible and adaptable and willingto provide additional discretionary effort when the team is in need You are able to operate in a challenging and fast paced environment. To able to demonstrate drive, ambition and a passion for ensuring thatcustomers receive a first-class Amazon experience.
