CMD Recruitment are pleased to be working with a Birmingham based Charity that engages with adults experiencing ill mental health on a pathway towards recovery using a person-centred approach through education, volunteering and employment.
This position will suit an experienced HR professional who has worked in a stand-alone role and has experience in a multi-faceted role within an SME.

As the senior HR Advisor, you will:

- Act as the first point of contact for all managers for employee relations issues
- Take responsibility for producing Executive level reports and any required HR information for the organisation
- Support and manage the recruitment process

Main Duties and Responsibilities


- Carry out interviews alongside managers.
- Prepare paperwork for interviews and recommend relevant assessments.
- Record up to date equal opportunities data on all applicants.
- Work closely with preferred suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the recruitment process and review terms and conditions.

Employee Relations

- Run job evaluation panel meetings for any newly created roles.
- Run 2nd line disciplinary and grievance hearings/outcome meetings and absence management meetings advising on a way forward in line with organisational policy
- Advise colleagues on employment legislation, policy, process and procedure
- Update company policies, procedures and templates letters as and when required in line with legislation
- Keep up to date with employment legislation and flag up any changes that will impact on the business.
- Produce paperwork for hearings, ensuring that all meetings are accurately recorded and the outcomes confirmed in writing and recorded
- Conduct Exit Interviews
- Conduct Return to Work Interviews after long term sickness

Training, learning and development

- Book training courses and events as requested, through liaison with our internal training team and external training organisations
- Carry out induction training for new joiners and managers, regularly review induction materials and update accordingly


- Work with the Senior Management Team to run the annual staff survey
- Produce reports for management from exit interview analysis to identify any improvements that need to be made

Internal relationships

- Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the business
- Hold a monthly management meeting with all contract managers to proactively discuss and advise on any upcoming or present issues in terms of recruitment, performance, absence, training etc


- Carry out quarterly management information reporting in line with Sub Committee meetings
- Carry out quarterly recruitment and retention reporting in line with Sub Committee meetings
- End of year reports
- Monthly absence management reports/dashboards

General HR

- Produce HR Management reports as and when required
- Oversee and maintain all HR systems and records including carrying out the year end procedures
- Keep manual personnel records and personal development folders up to date
- Implement a company benefit scheme that befits a charity of this size
- Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Take responsibility for own CPD

Summary Terms and Conditions

- Working Hours - 20 hours per week – 10 am until 3pm
- Annual Leave - 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays and an additional 3 days which are taken after single bank holidays for example May bank holiday
- Pension – The client runs a statutory pension scheme for employees
