Assistant Business Manager required to carry out a maternity cover at a south Birmingham Primary School
Your new company
A Primary School in South Birmingham is looking for an Assistant School Business Manager to carry out a twelve month maternity contract starting in the new year. The role is to start in the Summer term and in the first instance will run till the end of the academic year with the possibility of continuing into the Autumn term on a time sheet basis. The role is Monday to Friday, 8.00 am - 5.00 pm, term time only apart for the 2 weeks at the end of the school summer holidays when the person concerned would be required to work. The Primary school is linked with another primary school so the role will entail working with both schools and require travel to both sites which are in a close vicinity of each other.
Your new role
You will be responsible for supporting the School Business Manager with the HR functions of both schools. You will be responsible for payroll, contracts, updating HR records, the schools SCR, staff absence and disciplinaries. You will also be supporting the Principal with general administration such as correspondence and dealing with outside agencies.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have experience of working preferably within a school or similar setting and have experience of dealing with HR functions and issues. You must also have a knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection as well as possessing strong secretarial skills and be experienced in taking minutes and using Microsoft Office packages. You will also have recent satisfactory references that Hays Education can obtain from a similar role and have a proven track record in being able to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
