An experienced Secretary is sought by one of the Midlands' largest law firms to join their Commercial Property team. The award-winning firm has been providing advice to their business and individual clients for nearly two centuries across a diverse range of sectors.

The Role:

As a Legal Secretary you will provide general administrative support within a busy team of fee earners within the Commercial Property department, with your day to day duties including:

Client and Matter Management:

- Take phone calls on behalf on the team, dealing with enquiries and where a referral is needed, endure a comprehensive email is provided.
- Undertake audio typing and copy typing of client correspondence/forms/documentation when required.
- Produce draft letters and emails to send clients and external organisations.
- Document management including photocopying, scanning, faxing, collating and binding.
- Produce invoices and other accounting forms.
- General secretarial duties such as booking appointments, rooms and pool cars etc.
- Work alongside Compliance in carrying out searches and background checks on prospective clients.
- Filing, both paper and electronic.
- Liaise with clients and external organisations over the telephone when required. Take and convey messages.
- Document management including photocopying, scanning, faxing, collating and binding.

The successful conveyancing Secretary will demonstrate:

- Previous experience in a secretarial or administrative role within a professional office environment, working to challenging deadlines.
- Commercial property / conveyancing experience is desirable but not essential
- Minimum education to GCSE level (or equivalent), A-C grades including English.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This includes formatting, track changing and amending documents.
- Ability to audio type and produce documents accurately and quickly.
- Experience gained within a legal/professional environment is desirable, particularly within the commercial property sector.
- Experience of handling particular technical aspects of the discipline such as Stamp Duty Land Tax and Land Registry applications would be beneficial.?
