Warehouse Department Manager
At Bravissimo our purpose is to inspire big boobed women to feel confident and amazing. We are a dynamic multi-channel retailer, offering lingerie, swimwear and clothing to fit and flatter women who are a D-L cup. As a company, over the last 22 years we have experienced some substantial growth and we are now a £50 million-pound turnover business, with 29 stores across the UK as well as a well-established e-commerce operation. We continue to believe in and focus on our purpose which has resulted in the growth of our e-commerce into the USA and further store openings in the UK.
Our people are at the very heart of the experience we aim to provide for every single customer, and for the last 12 years we have been one of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For. Our warehouse operation plays such an important part in the service we offer to our customers. The warehouse stocks all size variances in each product, which in some cases can be up to 90 different sizes, to ensure we can always offer our customers the best choice possible. The warehouse holds around 525,000 items at any one time and from an order being placed, our team can pick and pack an item and get it on its way to a customer within 90 minutes.
Due to the large stock variances, we also operate a customer order transfer function through our warehouse which means we can offer our customers available stock from anywhere in the business. In our peak (which is summer!) we have around 22,000 items leaving the warehouse each day to our customers and shops. To support in the effective running of the operation, we are looking for a Warehouse Department Manager to join our team.
As a Warehouse Department Manager, you will lead and inspire the team to continue to deliver the service that we’re so passionate about. Whether that’s ensuring that our stock in accounted for across the business to allow us to get it to customers as soon as possible, or ensuring every delivery is packaged and wrapped perfectly to create an amazing first impression, you will be a role model for our service.
Whilst service is very important to us, we are not KPI led. You will lead your team to deliver great standards every time based on what’s right for our customers which may not necessarily be what is the most cost effective or time efficient solution for the operation.
You should be naturally inquisitive with a passion for looking for new ways to improve existing systems and processes to continue to enhance the experience we deliver to our customers. You will work closely with a number of other departments across the business to ensure that the operation is working in collaboration with key departments including customer services, merchandising and finance.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Department Manager with the ability to lead a team. Proactive in nature you will be able to work independently and take accountability for the results of your team, with the ability to deputise for your shift manager when required. It is essential that you can inspire and motivate others to deliver the service our customers expect.
You will have experience of running departments within a large warehouse (ideally as part of an eCommerce operation, but this isn’t essential), with a track record of improving departmental and warehouse processes. With a solid understanding of health and safety, you will be able to ensure this is a priority for all staff at all times; maintaining a safe working environment and taking ownership of managing risks as they occur.
You will also have the ability to engage with your team, ensuring day to day operations are organized and moving forward, using your management skills to empower your team to deliver great results. You will ensure team achievements are recognized and support your shift managers by identifying talent and developing your team for our future growth.
